HOFFMAN ESTATES, Illinois (Ticker) - Eric Gordon is proving that the learning curve between high school and college is small for the most talented.

Gordon leads No. 8 Indiana against Xavier on Saturday in the final of the Chicago Invitational Challenge.

The 6-4 guard from Indianapolis is averaging nearly 30 points per game through the Hoosiers first four contests this season, and lifted his team to the final here with a 31-point performance on Friday against Illinois State.

Gordon scored 11 straight points in the first half at one point and scored seven points in a 5 1/2-minute stretch in the second half to put away the game.

Fellow freshman Jordan Crawford chipped in 13 points in the 70-57 win.

Indiana also made its presence felt on the glass, outrebounding the Redbirds, 41-28.

The Musketeers cruised into Saturday's contest with a 78-65 win over Kent State on Friday. Senior forward Josh Duncan led the charge with 20 points.
