Georgetown hopes to avoid upset against Old Dominion

Nov 28, 2007 - 2:42 PM No. 5 Georgetown (3-0) at Old Dominion (3-3) 7:00 pm EST

NORFOLK, Virginia (Ticker) - Last season, then-No. 8 Georgetown was upset by Old Dominion in the month of November.

The fifth-ranked Hoyas will hope to avoid a similar setback this season when they visit the Monarchs on Wednesday.

Georgetown, which lost, 75-62, at home to Old Dominion on November 19 of last season, will be looking to go 4-0 for the first time since the 2003-04 season.

Old Dominion has had its chances at upsets this season, with all three losses coming against ranked teams. The Monarchs lost to No. 2 North Carolina and then-No. 6 Louisville in the Las Vegas Invitational last week.

The Monarchs have won all three of their contests at home and are led by 6-10 center Gerald Lee, who is averaging 12.2 points and 7.0 rebounds.

The Old Dominion sophomore will have to deal with 7-2 Roy Hibbert, who is averaging 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds to lead the Hoyas.

It will be the first game in one week for Georgetown, which has won its first three games by an average of 15.3 points. The Hoyas are coming off a 57-48 triumph over Ball State.
