Rush, Kansas host Florida Atlantic

Nov 28, 2007 - 2:45 PM Florida Atlantic (1-5) at No. 4 Kansas (5-0) 8:00 pm EST

LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) - Fourth-ranked Kansas looks to remain unbeaten Wednesday when it faces Florida Atlantic.

Brandon Rush scored five of his 17 points in overtime as Kansas escaped with a 76-72 win over Arizona on Sunday. It marked the first time this season that the Jayhawks won by fewer than 22 points.

More importantly for the Jayhawks was that Rush played 36 minutes after not playing more than 16 in the first four games as the junior recovered from offseason surgery on a torn ACL.

Paul Graham III and Carlos Monroe are averaging 17.8 and 17.2 points, respectively, to lead the Owls, who have lost three games in a row.

Florida Atlantic is coached by Rex Walters, who played for Kansas from 1991-93. The point guard averaged 15.6 points over 68 games.

Kansas is 15-2 all-time against teams from the Sun Belt Conference but never has faced Florida Atlantic.
