Michigan State looks to continue home success

Nov 28, 2007 - 2:56 PM N.C. State (4-1) at No. 13 Michigan St (4-1) 7:00 pm EST

EAST LANSING, Michigan (Ticker) - No. 13 Michigan State will look to win its 30th straight home game over a non-conference opponent when it takes on North Carolina State as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday.

The Spartans streak is the sixth longest in the country and Michigan State also is the only Big Ten team to have a winning record (4-3) in the annual event with the ACC.

Sophomore Raymar Morgan has established himself early this season, averaging 17.4 points and 8.4 rebounds. Morgan scored 20 points in Saturday's 75-71 victory over Oakland as the Spartans bounced back from their first loss of the season to No. 1 UCLA on November 20.

Drew Neitzel is averaging 14.6 points for Michigan State, with just one 20-point performance. The point guard scored at least 20 points in 16 regular season contests last season.

The Wolfpack have won their last three games, including a 69-68 victory over then-No. 19 Villanova in the Old Spice Classic on Sunday.

N.C. State is led by freshman J.J. Hickson, who is averaging 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds.

The Wolfpack lead the all-time series 6-1, including a 69-58 victory in the first round of the 2002 NCAA Tournament.
