Tennessee's Lofton looking to get on track vs. Louisiana-Lafayette
Nov 30, 2007 - 3:30 PM Louisiana Lafayette (1-3) at No. 12 Tennessee (6-1) 7:30 pm ESTKNOXVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- No. 12 Tennessee goes for back-to-back wins on Friday when it hosts Louisiana-Lafayette.
After suffering their first loss of the season against No. 16 Texas on Saturday, the Volunteers bounced back to rout North Carolina A&T, 93-59, on Tuesday. Chris Lofton scored 24 points in the victory.
However, Lofton made just 8-of-20 shots from 3-point range and continues to struggle with his outside shot. The senior guard is shooting just 36 percent from the field this season after hitting more than 46 percent of his shots in each of his first three seasons.
Tennessee's defense dominated North Carolina A&T, forcing 29 turnovers while holding the Aggies to just 2-of-18 (11 percent) shooting from the arc.
After a season-opening win, Louisiana-Lafayette has lost its last three games - including a 78-72 setback to UAB on Tuesday.
Tennessee is the only currently ranked team that the Ragin' Cajuns have on their schedule.
