Hibbert, Georgetown aim to stay unbeaten vs. Fairfield
Dec 1, 2007 - 2:44 PM Fairfield (2-4) at No. 5 Georgetown (4-0) 1:00 pm ESTWASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Roy Hibbert and fifth-ranked Georgetown look to stay unbeaten when they host Fairfield on Saturday.
The Hoyas won their fourth straight on Wednesday, 66-48, over Old Dominion. The 7-2 Hibbert led the way, scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds, as Georgetown shot a season-high 52 percent (26-of-50) from the floor.
The preseason Big East Player of the Year, Hibbert is averaging 16.8 points and 7.8 rebounds to lead the Hoyas in both categories.
Georgetown has been easily handling the competition, winning by an average of 16 points. On Wednesday, the Hoyas' defense was in top form, holding the Monarchs to just 31 percent (20-of-64) from the floor.
Meanwhile, Fairfield it has lost two straight after suffering a 55-51 setback to St. Francis on Wednesday. Yorel Hawkins scored 11 points to led the way for the Stags, who shot just 38 percent.
