Pittsburgh looks to continue home dominance
Dec 1, 2007 - 2:59 PM Toledo (1-5) at No. 11 Pittsburgh (6-0) 2:00 pm ESTPITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Ramon Ronald, Levance Fields and No. 11 Pittsburgh should have no problem extending their impressive home winning streak against Toledo on Saturday.
The Panthers have been nearly unbeatable at home, having won 86 of 94 at the Petersen Events Center, including 26 straight over non-conference opponents.
Ronald Ramon scored 15 points to lead Pittsburgh to an 80-53 win over Boston University on Tuesday. Fields added 11 points and eight assists.
Pittsburgh, which has started 6-0 for the sixth consecutive season, is an astounding 53-1 here vs. non-conference opponents.
An with another win the Panthers will move closer to tying their record of 28 straight wins over non-conference opponents here.
Meanwhile, Toledo has lost five straight since opening the season with a 57-53 win over Missouri State. Tyrone Kent scored 18 points in a 65-61 loss to North Carolina-Wilmington on Wednesday.
