Kansas looking to make statement vs. DePaul

Dec 8, 2007 - 2:14 PM DePaul (2-2) at No. 3 Kansas (8-0) 2:00 pm EST

LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) -- Third-ranked Kansas looks to remain undefeated on Saturday when it hosts DePaul.

After a four point victory over then-No. 24 Southern California on Sunday - just its second single-digit win this season - the Jayhawks responded with a dominant, 85-47, victory over Eastern Washington on Wednesday.

Eastern Washington scored six straight points to end the first half, but Kansas cemented the win with an 18-2 run after emerging from the locker room.

The Jayhawks used their superior size and athleticism to end the game with a 48-27 rebounding advantage and held the Eagles to under 33 percent shooting.

DePaul has alternated wins and losses in its first four games this season. The Blue Devils picked up a 85-70 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi during its last game on November 28.

Draelon Burns tied a career with 32 points in the victory while hitting 8-of-8 from 3-point range. The senior guard leads DePaul, averaging 18.8 points.
