Unbeaten Vanderbilt takes on neighboring Lipscomb

Dec 8, 2007 - 3:09 PM Lipscomb (4-5) at No. 25 Vanderbilt (8-0) 9:00 pm EST

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Lipscomb and No. 25 Vanderbilt are only 10 minutes apart, but haven't faced off much in recent years.

The two Nashville schools will play for the 25th time Saturday at Vanderbilt, but it will only be the fourth meetings in the last 55 years.

The Commodores remained unbeaten on Wednesday with an 83-80 victory over Wake Forest, a game that Vanderbilt trailed by two points with 1:40 left in the second half. Freshman center A.J. Ogilvy scored 23 points for the Commodores.

Senior swingman Shan Foster, who tied his season high of 26 points against the Demon Deacons, averages a team-best 20.4 points. Ogilvy averages 18.8 points and senior guard Alex Gordon 10.0 points for Vanderbilt, which is 8-0 for the first time since the 2003-04 season when the Commodores opened 12-0.

The Bisons have won their last three game, all of which were played at home. The game at Vanderbilt will be the first of a seven-game road trip.

Senior forward Eddie Ard is the only Lipscomb player averaging double figures at 13.1 points.

The Commodores lead the all-time series, 20-4.
