Oregon goes for fourth straight win against Sacramento State

EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) - No. 16 Oregon will be going for its fourth straight win when they it meets Sacramento State on Tuesday.

The Ducks have bounced back from their lone defeat on November 20 to current-No. 24 Saint Mary's, with three straight wins - including a 75-64 victory against Utah on Saturday. The victory also gave Ducks coach Ernie Kent the 200th of his career at Oregon, leaving him 12 behind Howard Hobson, who coached the Ducks from 1936-47, for first on the all-time list.

Despite losing last season's leading scorer Aaron Brooks, offense has not been a problem so far this campaign for Oregon. The Ducks are shooting 51 percent from the floor this season and are pouring in 89.3 points per game - which is fourth-best in the country.

Oregon has four players that average at least 15.1 points per game, led by senior Malik Hairston, who is netting 16.5 points per contest.

Sacramento State snapped a five-game losing streak with a 72-54 victory over NAIA school William Jessup on December 4. Junior guard Loren Leath is the only Hornets player averaging in double figures, scoring 18.6 points per game.

The Ducks are 4-0 all-time against the Hornets, with the most recent victory coming on November 29, 1978.
