Texas hosts Texas State looking to remain undefeated

Texas has opened the season with nine straight wins for the first time since 1981-82 when the team started with 14 consecutive victories. The Longhorns have been dominant, winning by an average of 23.0 points.
Damion James collected 18 points and 17 rebounds to lead Texas to an 80-54 rout of Rice last Saturday. James averages 12.4 points and 9.4 rebounds.
Texas has won 18 consecutive games against Texas State and is 25-2 at home in a series that dates back to 1917. Texas State's last victory in Austin came on December 7, 1937.
The Bobcats have lost their last two games, including a 109-73 drubbing against Texas A&M last Saturday. The Bobcats played little defense as the Aggies shot just under 68 percent.
