No. 25 BYU aims for 37th straight home win

PROVO, Utah (Ticker) -- No. 25 Brigham Young puts a 36-game home winning streak on the line Saturday against Pepperdine.

The Cougars are tied with Memphis for the nation's longest home winning streak. BYU has not lost at home since dropping its home opener to Loyola Marymount in its opener in the 2005-06 season.

Junior swingman Trent Plaisted leads the Cougars in scoring (18 ppg) and rebounding (9 rpg). Plaisted went over the 1,000-point mark in BYU's last game, an 88-66 victory over Lamar on Wednesday.

Lee Cummard, a 6-7 junior guard, averages 14.9 points and sophomore forward Jonathan Tavernari averages 14.5 points for the Cougars. BYU's only losses this season were to a pair of top 10 teams in North Carolina and Michigan State.

The Waves are in the midst of a 10-game road trip. Pepperdine is coming off a 83-65 victory at Pacific last Saturday. Freshman guard Tyrone Shelley, who has started three of 11 games, leads the Waves in scoring at 16.7 points per game.

Freshman forward Malcolm Thomas is averaging 14.5 points and a team-high 9.3 rebounds for Pepperdine.
