Duke seeks 10-0 start against Albany

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) - Albany will be in for a tough test when they face No. 7 Duke for the first time on Monday.

The Great Danes will be taking on a team that has won an NCAA-best 56 consecutive non-conference home games. The Blue Devils have won 35 consecutive games in December and are 39-1 in the month since the 2000-01 season.

The Blue Devils haven't played since December 8, a 95-67 home victory over Michigan. Freshman forward Kyle Singler leads five Duke players averaging double figures at 13.6 points per game and also leads the team in rebounding (6.6 per game).

Sophomore guard Gerald Henderson averages 13.6 points and 5.0 rebounds, while senior guard DeMarcus Nelson averages 11.7 points and 6.1 boards for the Blue Devils. Duke is averaging 86.7 points per game, compared to 65.4 for Albany. The Blue Devils bench is averaging 33.7 points.

The Great Danes snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday with a 66-53 victory over St. Francis (N.Y.). Senior swingman Brian Lillis averages 13.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists for Albany. Junior forward Brian Connelly averages 10.2 points and 6.1 rebounds for the Great Danes.
