Texas looks to stay unbeaten against Oral Roberts

Dec 18, 2007 - 2:20 PM Oral Roberts (6-3) at No. 5 Texas (10-0) 6:30 pm EST

AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) - Fifth-ranked Texas looks to improve on its best start in 26 years when it hosts Oral Roberts on Tuesday.

The Longhorns have won their first 10 games to start the season for the first time since capturing its first 14 contests to begin the 1981-82 campaign.

After losing freshman sensation Kevin Durant to the NBA at the end of last season, the Longhorns have had no problems making up for the lost offense. Texas is scoring 85.5 points per game and has won nine of its games by at least 15 points.

The dynamic backcourt of D.J. Augustin and A.J. Abrams have been the leaders for the Texas attack. Augustin is averaging 19.5 points and a Big 12-best 6.8 assists, while Abrams is scoring 19.2 points per game. The duo are both shooting over 43 percent from the arc.

Oral Roberts enters having won two straight and five of its last six games.

The Golden Eagles have four players averaging in double figures, led by guard Robert Jarvis, who is scoring 16.8 points per game.

Texas has beaten Oral Roberts eight straight times, but has not faced the Golden Eagles since 1998.
