BYU looks to stay unbeaten against Southern Utah

Dec 21, 2007 - 6:08 PM Southern Utah (2-9) at No. 23 BYU (9-2) 8:30 pm EST

PROVO, Utah (Ticker) -- Lee Cummard and Brigham Young likely will not have a problem extending the nation's longest current home winning streak.

Cummard and 23rd-ranked BYU aim to extend their home winning streak to 38 games Friday when they host Southern Utah.

The Cougars have won two straight contests and haven't played since Saturday's 86-67 victory over Pepperdine.

Cummard scored 21 points to pace the Cougars, who shot 57 percent (37-of-65) from the floor.

BYU owns a 10-0 all-time record against Southern Utah - a series in which every game has been played on the Cougars' home court.

The Thunderbirds, 1-8 in their last nine games, are guided by former BYU coach Roger Reid. Southern Utah has dropped two straight, including a 99-63 decision at Cal State Fullerton on Monday.
