Gordon looks to help Indiana to 25th straight home win

Dec 22, 2007 - 1:51 PM Coppin St (3-9) at No. 14 Indiana (9-1) 12:00 pm EST

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Ticker) - No. 14 Indiana looks to continue riding high at home when Coppin State stops for a visit on Saturday afternoon.

The Hoosiers own a 24-game winning streak at Assembly Hall - the fourth-longest streak in the nation behind Brigham Young's 37-game mark.

The Hoosiers picked up their fifth consecutive victory with last Saturday's convincing 100-52 win over Western Carolina behind the return of freshman sensation Eric Gordon, who scored 26 points.

"I felt fine," Gordon said. "My back feels about 95 percent, maybe 100, and I don't feel no pain at all."

Gordon returned to the Indiana's lineup after missing one game due to a bruised tailbone. The 18-year-old guard is averaging 24.4 points while shooting 54 percent from the field.

If Gordon can register another 30-point performance, he will pass Mike Woodson's 1976-77 school record of three.

Coppin State has not topped the 50-point mark in its last four games and will not be rested after playing on Friday.

Brian Chesnut scored 13 points for the Eagles, who dropped their seventh consecutive game to No. 13 Marquette, 89-42, Friday night.

Coppin State shot just 28 percent for the game and were outscored, 46-18, in the second half during the rout.
