A Detroit homecoming for Oregon's Hairston, Porter
Dec 22, 2007 - 2:43 PM No. 21 Oregon (8-2) at Oakland (5-6) 9:00 pm ESTAUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) - Malik Hairston and Tajuan Porter will enjoy a homecoming Saturday as No. 21 Oregon takes on Oakland.
Hairston and Porter both went to Renaissance High School in the Detroit area.
A 6-6 senior, Hairston averages 17.4 points to pace the Ducks. Porter, a sophomore guard, contributes 17.2 points per contest.
Behind their high-scoring duo, the Ducks are looking to rebound from last Saturday's 88-79 overtime loss at Nebraska. The Ducks shot a season-low 42 percent.
The Golden Grizzlies are coming off a 67-53 victory over Division II Rochester on Wednesday.
Junior forward Derick Nelson averages a team-high 19.8 points and 7.7 rebounds for Oakland.
This is the first meeting between the schools.
