Vanderbilt goes for best start in school history against Iona

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- No. 15 Vanderbilt goes for the best start in school history when it hosts Iona on Monday.

With Saturday's 92-85 win over Tennessee-Martin, the Commodores tied the 2003-04 campaign as the only teams to win its first 12 games of the season.

Vanderbilt is led by senior Shan Foster and freshman A.J. Ogilvy, who are ranked first and second, respectively, in the Southeastern Conference in scoring. Foster is netting 20.1 points per game, while Ogilvy is averaging 19.2 and a team-high 6.8 rebounds.

Iona had its three-game winning streak with a 67-36 loss to Louisville in its last game.

Dexter Gray and Milan Prodanovic are the only two players scoring in double figures for the Gaels, who are 2-6 on the road this season. Gray is scoring 12.9 points and Prodanovic is averaging 11.6.

The Commodores won the only meeting between the teams, 92-56, in 1980.
