Dayton back in top 25 for first time since 2003

DAYTON, Ohio (Ticker) -- In the national rankings for the first time since 2003, No. 23 Dayton faces intrastate rival Akron on Wednesday. The Flyers enter this contest off an impressive 80-55 rout of then-No. 6 Pittsburgh on Saturday. Brian Roberts scored 31 points to pace Dayton, which has won 10 straight games.

Roberts leads the Flyers in scoring at 19.3 points per game.

The Zips have won five straight, including a 79-73 victory over Illinois-Chicago on Saturday.

Senior forward Jeremiah Wood leads Akron in scoring (14.1 points per game) and rebounding (9.3 per game). Senior guard Nick Dials averages 12.9 points and senior guard Cedrick Middleton 10.9 for the Zips.
