CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) - Coming off an unbeaten five-game road trip, North Carolina is now on the verge of completing a perfect five-game homestand.

North Carolina goes for its 14th straight win to begin the season when they host Kent State on Wednesday.

The top-ranked Tar Heels, who are off to their best start since beginning 17-0 during the 1997-98 campaign, are one of six remaining unbeaten teams left in Division I.

Junior forward Tyler Hansbrough has scored at least 20 points in six straight games, including a 23-point, 13-rebound performance against Valparaiso in Sunday's 90-58 victory. The Wooden Award candidate was also named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday for the fourth time this season.

Kent State comes in on a hot streak as well, winning seven straight games.

Senior forward Mike Scott leads the Golden Flashes in scoring, averaging 14.3 points. Scott scored 17 in Kent State's 84-69 victory over Cleveland State on Saturday.
