No. 7 Georgetown opens conference play at Rutgers
Jan 5, 2008 - 2:28 PM No. 7 Georgetown (10-1) at Rutgers (8-6) 2:00 pm ESTPISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- No. 7 Georgetown opens Big East Conference play on Saturday against Rutgers.
The Hoyas have won two straight games since their only loss of the season to No. 2 Memphis. Sophomore forward DaJuan Summers is one of three Georgetown players averaging in double figures, leading the Hoyas in scoring at 12.5 points per game.
Senior center Roy Hibbert is averaging 12.1 points and a team-high 6.2 rebounds. Senior guard Jonathan Wallace averages 10.3 points for Georgetown.
The Scarlet Knights (8-6, 0-1 Big East) have lost three of their last four games, including a 68-45 loss at South Florida in their conference opener on Wednesday.
Freshman guard Corey Chandler, who leads the Scarlet Knights in scoring at 14.1 points per game, has missed the last three contests with a foot injury.
Junior forward J.R. Inman leads Rutgers in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounding (8.8 rpg).
