Kansas ready for final non-conference tune-up vs. Loyola-Maryland

Jan 8, 2008 - 2:44 PM Loyola-Maryland (6-8) at No. 3 Kansas (14-0) 8:00 pm EST

LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) - Off to its best start in three seasons, No. 3 Kansas looks to remain undefeated when it takes on Loyola-Maryland in its final non-conference tune-up on Tuesday.

Kansas is 14-0 for the sixth time in school history with the last time coming during the 2004-05 season. The Jayhawks, who are just one of six undefeated teams in the nation, haven't started 15-0 since winning their first 19 games during the 1989-90 campaign.

The Jayhawks continued their perfect start on Saturday, posting their third straight win by at least 24 points during a 85-60 victory over Boston College.

Kansas is outscoring its opponents by 25.1 points per game - the best margin of victory in the nation. The Jayhawks also rank 15th in the country, scoring just over 83 points per game.

The Jayhawks should have no trouble scoring against Loyola (6-8), which is allowing 71.9 points per game.

Despite ending a three-game losing streak against Iona during their last game on Sunday, the Greyhounds have won just two of their last eight games and are 0-6 on the road this season.
