Vandy seeks fifth straight win over Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Ticker) -- No. 12 Vanderbilt looks to remain unbeaten Saturday when it faces Kentucky in an Southeastern Conference matchup.

Off to its best start in school history, Vanderbilt (16-0, 1-0 SEC East) is attempting to beat Kentucky for a fifth straight time. The Wildcats lead the all-time series, 129-41.

Senior swingman Shan Foster leads Vanderbilt and the SEC in scoring at 20.6 points per game. Freshman center A.J. Ogilvy adds 19.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.

Kentucky (6-7, 0-0 East) was ranked in the top 25 in the preseason and started off 4-1, but then lost four straight in a stretch that included defeats to Alabama-Birmingham and Houston. The Wildcats completed their non-conference schedule last Saturday with a 89-75 home loss to Louisville.

Freshman forward Patrick Patterson leads Kentucky in both scoring (16.8 ppg) and rebounds (8.1 rpg).

The Wildcats are 18-2 in their last 20 SEC openers and 57-17 all-time. Kentucky is averaging a conference-worst 17.4 turnovers per game.
