No. 24 Arizona hopes to avoid third straight loss
Jan 12, 2008 - 2:42 PM No. 24 Arizona (10-5) at Houston (11-2) 3:00 pm ESTHOUSTON (Ticker) -- Playing its final non-conference game, No. 24 Arizona visits Houston on Saturday.
The Wildcats must be happy to be stepping outside the Pac-10 since they lost their last two conference games.
Arizona is 1-3 since losing freshman guard Jerryd Bayliss to a sprained right knee suffered in practice December 28. Bayliss remains the Wildcats' leading scorer at 18.5 points per game.
Houston has been off since having a 10-game winning streak stopped with a 89-85 loss at Massachusetts on January 2. The Cougars are 9-0 at home.
Leading the way for the Cougars is senior Robert McKiver, who averages 20.8 points.
Houston leads the all-time series, 5-4.
