Indiana looks to continue rolling against struggling Illinois

Jan 13, 2008 - 2:28 PM Illinois (8-8) at No. 11 Indiana (13-1) 4:30 pm EST

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Ticker) - Sunday's lone Big Ten conference matchup features two teams going in opposite directions.

No. 11 Indiana goes for its 10th straight victory when it hosts struggling Illinois at Assembly Hall.

The Hoosiers (13-1, 2-0 Big Ten) are on their longest winning streak since they won 13 straight from January 6-February 21, 1993.

D.J. White became the first Indiana player since 1995 to have at least 20 points and 20 rebounds in a game with a 21 and 22 in Tuesday's 78-64 win over Michigan.

The senior forward is second on the team in scoring, as freshman sensation Eric Gordon leads the team at 23.5 points per game. The duo has helped Indiana to its best 14-game start since beginning 14-1 during the 1996-97 campaign.

The Fighting Illini on the other hand, have not enjoyed much success lately.

Illinois (8-8, 0-3) has dropped four straight contests for the first time since losing seven in a row during the 1998-99 campaign, and are winless through three games in Big Ten play for the first time since that same season nine years ago.

The Illini only have two players scoring in double figures with Shaun Pruitt leading the way at 12.4 points per contest.

The teams split two regular-season meetings last season before Illinois posted a 58-54 win in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.
