Kansas puts unblemished record on line vs. Oklahoma

LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) -- Third-ranked Kansas looks to remain unbeaten Monday when it faces Oklahoma in a Big 12 Conference matchup.

Kansas (16-0, 1-0 Big 12) has won its first 16 games for the fifth time in school history. It is the Jayhawks' best start since they won their first 22 games in 1996-97.

Brandon Rush scored 19 points to lead Kansas to a 79-58 triumph at Nebraska on Saturday.

The Jayhawks have won 24 straight regular-season games.

Oklahoma (12-4, 0-1) had its five-game winning streak stopped with a 84-82 setback to Kansas State in its conference opener Saturday. Freshman Blake Griffin led the Sooners, collecting 27 points and 14 rebounds.

The Jayhawks won both meetings between the teams last season.
