Dayton looks to stay perfect at home vs. Massachusetts

DAYTON, Ohio (Ticker) - No. 18 Dayton has already matched its best start in team history. Now the Flyers will look to remain unbeaten at home this season on Wednesday against Massachusetts in an Atlantic 10 Conference game.

The Flyers (14-1, 2-0 A-10) have won 13 consecutive games, including 10 at home, and have defeated the Minutemen (11-4, 0-1) in five of the last seven meetings. Dayton leads the all-time series, 7-6.

Senior guard Brian Roberts leads the Flyers in scoring at 20.1 points per game. Freshman forward Chris Wright is averaging 10.4 points, but will be out 4-8 weeks due to a broken bone in his right ankle.

UMass has had a week to prepare for Dayton, coming off a 98-92 loss to Saint Joseph's last Wednesday. Senior forward Gary Forbes leads the Minutemen and the conference in scoring at 20.9 points per game.

Sophomore guard Ricky Harris averages 19.7 points, junior guard Chris Lowe 12.5 and senior forward Etienne Brower 11.1 for UMass.

The Minutemen have lost their last five games against ranked teams. UMass defeated the Flyers, 77-69, last season to hand Dayton its first home loss after a 14-0 start.
