Xavier seeks another dominating effort at Temple

Jan 16, 2008 - 3:11 PM No. 20 Xavier (14-3) at Temple (6-8) 7:00 pm EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) - No. 20 Xavier looks to continue its run of dominating wins when it visits Temple on Wednesday.

Xavier (14-3, 2-0 A10) enters the game on a six-game winning streak after claiming a 68-50 victory against Fordham on Saturday. B.J. Raymond scored 20 points to lead the Musketeers to the win, and was one of four players to score in double digits.

The Musketeers have won their last six games by an average of 25.3 points and have shot 53 percent from the floor and 49 percent from 3-point range.

Although Raymond leads the team with 12.7 points per game, Xavier has used a balance scoring attack to win this season, boasting six players who are averaging at least 10 points a contest.

The Musketeers are 12-0 this campaign when at least four players score in double figures while posting just a 2-3 record when three or fewer reach the 10-point mark.

Temple (6-8, 0-1) looks to get back on track against Xavier after suffering three-straight losses.

Despite overcoming a 17-point first half deficit and holding a two-point lead with just over two minutes to play, the Owls couldn't break out of their slump on Saturday, falling, 60-58, to Charlotte.

Mark Tyndale scored 17 points for Temple in the loss and is second on the team, averaging 15.4 points per game while junior guard Dionte Christmas leads the Owls in points (20.5) and rebounds (6.7) this season.
