No. 21 Villanova gets second chance at DePaul

VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania (Ticker) - No. 21 Villanova will have the opportunity to avenge one of its losses this season on Wednesday against DePaul in a Big East game.

The Blue Demons (7-8, 3-1 Big East) downed the Wildcats, 84-76, on January 3 as senior guard Draelon Burns scored 20 points. Six DePaul players scored in double figures, the only time that has happened to the Wildcats (11-3, 1-2) this season.

Villanova is coming off a 69-66 conference loss at Cincinnati on Saturday, despite a season-high 32 points from sophomore guard Scottie Reynolds. The Wildcats' leading scorer is averaging 16.7 points per game.

Freshman guard Corey Fisher averages 12.3 points for Villanova. Junior forward Dante Cunningham averages 10.3 points and 7.1 rebounds, while junior forward Shane Clark averages 10.8 points and 5.3 boards.

The Blue Demons have won five of their last six games, including a 60-54 victory at St. John's on Saturday. The victory marked the first time since the 1999-2000 campaign that DePaul won its opening conference road game.

Burns leads the Blue Demons in scoring at 17.1 points per game. Freshman forward Dar Tucker averages 13.1 points and 5.7 rebounds, while freshman center Mac Koshwal averages 11.3 points and 8.2 boards.

The Wildcats lead the all-time series, 10-8.
