No. 17 Pittsburgh shoots for better results against St John's

NEW YORK (Ticker) - No. 17 Pittsburgh has had its share of success playing at Madison Square Garden, the site of Wednesday's Big East game with St. John's.

The Panthers are 18-8 at Madison Square Garden since 2000-01, including a win over Duke earlier this season. However, the Panthers have lost five of their last games against the Red Storm (7-9, 1-4 Big East) at MSG.

For the seventh game this season, the Panthers (15-3, 3-2) will be without injured starters Mike Cook (torn ACL) and Levance Fields (fractured left foot). Fields will be out several more weeks but could return by the end of the season. Austin Wallace (fractured patella) is also out for the season,

St. John's has lost three consecutive conference games and five of six overall, including a 73-64 defeat to West Virginia on Thursday.

St. John's leads the series, 33-17.
