No. 8 Indiana looks for 13th consecutive victory
Jan 23, 2008 - 2:46 PM Iowa (9-10) at No. 8 Indiana (16-1) 9:00 pm ESTBLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Ticker) -- No. 8 Indiana tries to runs its home winning streak to 29 games Wednesday when it faces Iowa in a Big Ten Conference matchup.
The Hoosiers (16-1, 5-0) have won 12 consecutive games and are off to their best start in the conference since the 1992-93 squad started 11-0 on the way to the Big Ten title.
This is the second meeting between the teams this season. On January 2, freshman Eric Gordon scored 25 points to lead the Hoosiers to a 79-76 win over the Hawkeyes.
Gordon leads Indiana and the conference in scoring at 22.4 points per game and has scored in double figures in 16 of 17 games. Senior forward D.J. White adds 16.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per contest.
Iowa has alternated losses and wins in its last four games and is coming off a 68-60 win at Michigan on Saturday.
Junior guard Tony Freeman leads the Hawkeyes in scoring at 16.6 points per game. Senior guard Justin Johnson averages 13.4 points and 5.0 rebounds.
