Kansas looks to remain unbeaten, continue domination of Nebraska

Jan 26, 2008 - 2:19 PM Nebraska (11-5) at No. 2 Kansas (19-0) 1:45 pm EST

LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) - The first four Big 12 games have been quite easy for No. 2 Kansas, which has won those contests by an average of 24.3 points.

Kansas has won 27 straight regular-season contests and is 33-1 in its last 34 games.

But Nebraska (11-5, 0-3 Big 12) gets an opportunity to avenge an earlier 21-point loss to the Jayhawks (19-0, 4-0) on Saturday.

The Jayhawks lead the all-time series, 162-71, and have defeated the Cornhuskers nine consecutive times.

Sophomore forward Darrell Arthur averages 13.4 points and 5.7 rebounds for Kansas, while senior forward Darnell Jackson comes in at 12.8 points and a team-high 7.3 boards per game.

The Jayhawks' start is their best since the 1996-97 team began the season 22-0. Kansas has won 18 consecutive home games.

Nebraska's current three-game losing streak began with the January 12 home loss against the Jayhawks. Senior center Aleks Maric, a native of Sydney, Australia, leads the Cornhuskers at 16.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
