No. 16 Texas A&M faces Oklahoma State after tough loss

Jan 26, 2008 - 2:26 PM No. 16 Texas A&M (15-4) at Oklahoma St (10-8) 2:00 pm EST

STILLWATER, Oklahoma (Ticker) - After losing the longest game in Big 12 Conference history, No. 16 Texas A&M will attempt to rebound on Saturday against Oklahoma State.

The Aggies (15-4, 1-3 Big 12) are coming off a 116-110, five-overtime home loss to Baylor on Wednesday. Three Texas A&M players fouled out and three others played 55 minutes or more.

"Five overtimes is asking a lot when you're not as deep as you need to be," Aggies coach Mark Turgeon said.

Despite 30 points and 14 rebounds from sophomore forward Bryan Davis, the Aggies lost their third consecutive game.

"You didn't want to see anyone lose a game like this," Baylor coach Scott Drew said. "I don't think you could come up with any more of a team effort."

Junior swingman Josh Carter averages 13.5 points and senior swingman Joseph Jones 11.4 for Texas A&M, which trails the all-time series against Oklahoma State, 27-11.

Oklahoma State (10-8, 1-3) also comes in having lost three straight, including a 63-61 home setback to No. 12 Texas on Monday.

"You make mistakes late in the game, those mistakes are magnified," Oklahoma State coach Sean Sutton said. "You don't have time to recover from them."

Freshman swingman James Anderson leads the Cowboys with 15.6 points per game.
