Dayton looks to get back in the win column at Richmond

RICHMOND, Virginia (Ticker) - No. 19 Dayton looks to get back into the win column on Saturday when it visits Richmond in an Atlantic 10 contest.

The Flyers (14-3, 2-2 A-10) were embarrassed in their last game, dropping a 69-43 decision at No. 22 Xavier on Thursday. Dayton trailed by double digits for most of the contest and shot just 2-of-18 from the arc.

Brian Roberts, the Flyers' leading scorer, was held to a season-low five points on just 2-of-5 shooting. The senior guard is averaging 19.2 points but has battling a sickness for a "better part of the month" according to Dayton coach Brian Gregory.

"I felt OK warming up, but once the game started, I got winded really quick," Roberts said. "I couldn't catch my breath. In the second half I started cramping up, and after the game I was still a little weak.

The Spiders (9-8, 2-2) have not played since a 76-67 setback to La Salle last Saturday.

Dan Geriot leads the team in scoring at 14.5 points per game, while David Gonzalvez is scoring 10.5 per contest. Gonzalvez scored 21 in Richmond's loss to La Salle.

Dayton won the only meeting between the two teams last season, 72-54, at home.
