Marquette hopes home court can stop losing streak

Jan 26, 2008 - 3:23 PM DePaul (9-9) at No. 20 Marquette (13-4) 8:00 pm EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) - No. 20 Marquette hopes returning home can help it get back into the win column on Saturday when they host Big East rival DePaul.

The Golden Eagles (13-3, 3-3 Big East) are a perfect 10-0 on their home floor but are coming off a pair of embarrassing losses on the road.

On Sunday, Marquette was dismantled by Connecticut, 89-73, which came on the heels of a 71-51 defeat at Louisville on January 17.

Dominic James, who is Marquette's leading scorer at 13.8 points per game, is nursing a sore wrist and scored a combined 12 points in the Golden Eagles' last two defeats.

The Blue Demons (9-9, 4-2) have won two straight games, including a 92-60 victory over Florida Gulf Coast on Monday.

Draelon Burns leads the team in scoring at 17.9 points per game and is averaging 22.0 over his last three games.

DePaul won the only meeting between the two teams last season, 72-67, which snapped a three-game losing streak in the series.
