San Francisco looks to give Sutton 800th win vs. St. Mary's

SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) - San Francisco coach Eddie Sutton goes for his 800th career win on Saturday when his team faces No. 24 Saint Mary's.

San Francisco (5-13, 1-2 WCC) has lost eight of their last nine games, including a 72-64 setback against Gonzaga on Tuesday. The Dons were held to just 40 percent shooting from the floor while hitting 5-of-13 3-pointers.

Dior Lowhorn scored 21 points for San Francisco in the loss and has been playing well of late despite his teams struggles. Lowhorn, who leads the team with 20.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, has scored at least 18 points in each of his last seven games.

St. Mary's (16-2, 3-0), conversely, is on fire recently and enter Saturday's contest on a four-game winning streak.

The Gaels stayed perfect in the West Coast Conference on Monday, posting a dominating 87-55 victory over Loyola Marymount.

Diamon Simon scored a season-high 21 points to lead the way for the St. Mary's, which shot a blistering 55 percent from the floor against Loyola Marymount and hit half (14-of-28) of its 3-pointers.
