No. 25 Mississippi State looks to stay unbeaten in SEC

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (Ticker) - The top two teams in the Southeastern Conference's Western Division square off on Wednesday when No. 25 Mississippi State travels to Arkansas.

The Bulldogs (14-5, 5-0) are ranked in the top 25 for the first time in three years and are on a nine-game winning streak. Mississippi State is 5-0 in conference play for the first time since the 1993-94 season.

Junior swingman Jamont Gordon is averaging 17.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists for the Bulldogs, who are coming off a 20-point home victory over No. 22 Mississippi on Saturday. Senior forward Charles Rhodes averages 14.9 points and 6.8 rebounds for Mississippi State, which is second in the nation behind Georgetown in field-goal percentage defense at 36 percent.

Senior forward Sonny Weems averages 13.9 points, while sophomore guard Patrick Beverley averages 11.8 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Razorbacks (14-5, 3-2).

Bulldogs' coach Rick Stansbury will pick up career victory No. 200 with a win. Arkansas has won three of the last four meetings and leads the all-time series, 25-18.
