Stanford visits Washington in Pac-10 battle
Jan 31, 2008 - 3:03 PM No. 14 Stanford (16-3) at Washington (12-8) 10:00 pm ESTSEATTLE (Ticker) - Three of the best big men in the Pac-10 Conference will be on display Thursday when No. 14 Stanford visits Washington.
Stanford (16-3, 5-2 Pac-10) features a pair of 7-footers in twin brothers Brook and Robin Lopez. Brook Lopez scored 23 points and Robin Lopez collected 14 rebounds, leading the Cardinal to an 82-77 win over California last Saturday.
The Lopez's have helped Stanford outrebound each of its first seven conference opponents. Brook Lopez averages a team-high 17.8 points and 7.9 rebounds.
The Huskies (12-8, 3-4) are paced by 6-7 Jon Brockman, who is averaging 23.0 points and 13.0 rebounds while shooting 62 percent over his last four games. On the season, he is averaging 19.1 points and 11.5 rebounds.
Brockman had 24 points and six rebounds but Washington endured a 84-69 setback against Arizona in its last game.
