No. 2 Kansas tries to bounce back, visits Colorado
Feb 2, 2008 - 11:59 AM No. 2 Kansas (20-1) at Colorado (9-11) 3:30 pm ESTBOULDER, Colorado (Ticker) - For the first time this season, No. 2 Kansas will go into a game coming off a loss when it visits Colorado on Saturday.
The Jayhawks were knocked from the ranks of the unbeatens with an 84-75 loss to No. 24 Kansas State on Wednesday. Kansas had won 24 straight road contests against its conference rival.
"It doesn't sting because of the streak," Kansas coach Bill Self said. "It stings because it's our rival. I could care less about the streak, but I do care about beating our rivals. So, yeah, this one stings more than what most would sting."
The Jayhawks (20-1, 5-1 Big 12) have a 24-5 record following a loss under Self. Sophomore forward Darrell Arthur leads four players who average in double figures for the Jayhawks at 13.5 points per game.
The Buffaloes (9-11, 1-5) have lost four straight and six of their last seven, including a 57-41 defeat at Iowa State on Tuesday.
Senior guard Richard Roby at 16.5 points per game.
Kansas has won nine straight against Colorado and leads the all-time series, 113-39.
