Drake aims for 19th straight win
Feb 2, 2008 - 12:00 PM No. 17 Drake (19-1) at Indiana State (10-10) 7:05 pm ESTTERRE HAUTE, Indiana (Ticker) - No. 17 Drake seeks its 19th straight win Saturday when it faces Indiana State in a Missouri Valley Conference matchup.
Drake's winning streak is the nation's second-longest, trailing only a 20-game run by top-ranked Memphis.
The Bulldogs (19-1, 10-0, MVC) reached the 19-win plateau and 10 wins in conference for the first time since the 1985-86 season with a 75-65 victory over Creighton on Wednesday.
Josh Young tied a career high with 24 points against Creighton while making 6-of-8 3-pointers. The sophomore guard is the Bulldogs' leading scorer, averaging 15.9 points. He also is hitting 48 percent of his shots from the arc.
Indiana State (10-10, 5-5) has lost four of its last five games, including a 63-44 drubbing against Bradley on Wednesday.
