No. 10 Texas hopes to return to winning ways

Feb 2, 2008 - 12:02 PM Baylor (16-3) at No. 10 Texas (16-4) 1:45 pm EST

AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) - No. 10 Texas will attempt to rebound from its worst loss of the season with a Big 12 Conference matchup against Baylor on Saturday.

The Longhorns had a three-game winning streak snapped Wednesday with a 80-63 loss at rival Texas A&M. Texas never led, trailing by as many as 22 points.

"There was no point in time that I think we guarded them," Texas coach Rick Barnes said. "We didn't deserve to win that one in any shape, form or fashion."

Sophomore guard D.J. Augustin averages 20.4 points to lead the Longhorns (16-4, 3-2 Big 12). Junior guard A.J. Abrams averages 17.2 points, while sophomore swingman Damion Jones is at 13.2 points and 10.7 rebounds.

The Bears (16-3, 4-1) have been off since enduring a 77-71 loss to Oklahoma last Saturday. It was the Bears' first game since a win in five overtimes against Texas A&M.

Junior guard Curtis Jerrells leads the Bears in scoring at 14.4 points per game.
