No. 23 Texas A&M hosts Oklahoma in Big 12 contest

Feb 2, 2008 - 12:02 PM Oklahoma (15-5) at No. 23 Texas A&M (17-4) 4:00 pm EST

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) - With a three-game losing streak now just a memory, No. 23 Texas A&M looks for its third straight win Saturday when it faces Oklahoma.

The Aggies' winning streak has followed a losing capped by a loss in five overtimes to Baylor.

After beating Oklahoma State on the road, Texas A&M (17-4, 3-3 Big 12) returned home to post an impressive 80-63 victory over No. 10 Texas on Wednesday.

"I couldn't be more proud of our team," Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon said. "To think where we were a week ago, the world was coming to the end. It was good to bounce back."

Junior swingman Josh Carter averages 13.7 points to lead the Aggies, who are 14-1 at home.

The Sooners (15-5, 3-2) also have won three straight. They are coming off Monday's 64-61 triumph over Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma is led by 6-10 freshman Blake Griffin, who averages 14.7 points and 8.7 rebounds.

The Sooners lead the all-time series, 25-3. But the Aggies picked up two of the wins last season.
