North Carolina looks for more success vs. Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (Ticker) - Tyler Hansbrough and No. 4 North Carolina aim to continue their dominance over Florida State in a Atlantic Coast Conference showdown on Sunday.

Hansbrough helped North Carolina avoid consecutive home losses by scoring 18 points in a 91-69 victory over Boston College on Thursday.

North Carolina has won 17 of the last 20 meetings with Florida State - including 11 of 15 here. In addition, the Tar Heels (20-1, 5-1 ACC) own a 36-8 edge in the all-time series.

In the last meeting, North Carolina eliminated Florida State from the quarterfinals of ACC Tournament with a 73-58 victory on March 9.

The Seminoles (13-9, 2-5), who are coming off a 89-80 loss to Virginia Tech on Thursday, have not beaten the Tar Heels since a 90-81 win here on January 22, 2004.

Jason Rich scored 22 points and leading scorer Toney Douglas added 17 against the Hokies, but the Seminoles fell behind 18-4 and never recovered despite a 56-point second half.
