Texas A&M looks to continue climb up Big 12 standings
Feb 5, 2008 - 3:41 PM No. 18 Texas A&M (18-4) at Iowa St (13-9) 8:00 pm ESTAMES, Iowa (Ticker) - Texas A&M goes for its fourth straight win when they visit Iowa State in Big 12 action on Tuesday.
After starting out 1-3 in conference play, the 18th-ranked Aggies (18-4, 4-3 Big 12) have won their last three contests - holding each of their opponents to 63 points or less.
Joseph Jones had 18 points in Texas A&M's 60-52 victory on Saturday as leading scorer Josh Carter netted just six. It was the second-lowest scoring output of the season for the junior, who is averaging 13.4 points per game.
Iowa State (13-9, 3-4), which is 3-0 at home in conference play, is coming off a 64-56 loss at Nebraska on Saturday.
Jiri Hubalek had 18 points to lead the Cyclones, who played without leading scorer Wesley Johnson due to an ankle injury. Johnson is averaging 13.9 points per game and his status is listed as day-to-day.
The Aggies, who are just 1-3 away from home this season, have won the last three meetings between the schools.
