Kansas State looks to bounce back against Nebraska

Feb 6, 2008 - 2:16 PM Nebraska (13-6) at No. 24 Kansas St (15-5) 8:00 pm EST

MANHATTAN, Kansas (Ticker) - Kansas State looks to rebound from its first Big 12 Conference loss on Wednesday against Nebraska.

The 24th-ranked Wildcats (15-5, 5-1 Big 12) were unable to follow up on a victory over No. 2 Kansas, losing at Missouri on Saturday to fall out of first place after a brief stay.

"We just laid down," Kansas State freshman sensation Michael Beasley said. "We played like boys instead of men."

Beasley leads the conference at 24.9 points and 12.3 rebounds, but was held to 17 points by the Tigers.

The Wildcats are 11-1 at home this season and have won five of their last six games against the Cornhuskers (13-6, 2-4) in Manhattan.

Senior center Aleks Maric is at 15.4 points and 8.7 rebounds for Nebraska and is averaging 17.5 points and 9.1 rebounds in six games against Kansas State.

The Cornhuskers are 1-4 on the road this season and have lost 20 consecutive road games against ranked opponents.
