Pittsburgh searches for consistency vs. West Virginia

Feb 7, 2008 - 2:34 PM West Virginia (16-6) at No. 25 Pittsburgh (17-5) 7:00 pm EST

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh arguably has been the most inconsistent team in the nation recently.

The 25th-ranked Panthers look to find their rhythm Thursday when they host West Virginia in a Big East matchup.

The Panthers (17-5, 5-4) have lost three of their last five games, including a 60-53 setback to then-unranked Connecticut on Saturday.

Pittsburgh made just 32 percent of its shots Saturday and made 2-of-16 (12 percent) 3-pointers.

Darris Nichols tied a season-high with 23 points as West Virginia (16-6, 5-4) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 77-65 victory over Providence on Saturday.

A senior, Nichols, who is fourth on the team in scoring at 12.0 points per game, has scored in double-digits in each of his last seven games.
