No. 2 Duke looks to avoid letdown against Boston College

Feb 9, 2008 - 11:30 AM Boston College (12-9) at No. 2 Duke (20-1) 1:00 pm EST

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) - No. 2 Duke faces Boston College on Saturday, coming off its biggest victory of the season.

The Blue Devils (20-1, 8-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) had six players in double figures in Wednesday's 89-78 win at No. 3 North Carolina. Duke took advantage of the absence of injured Tar Heels point guard Ty Lawson to end a three-game losing streak in the rivalry.

"They're pretty special right now," said Blue Devils' coach Mike Krzyzewski about his team. "We know who we are. We're a very unconventional team. We're not a strong physical team, but we are strong team emotionally, a real together group."

Duke will take a 10-game winning streak into the contest with the Eagles (12-9, 3-5). Senior guard DeMarcus Nelson leads the Blue Devils, 11-0 at home, at 15.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Boston College has lost five consecutive games and is 1-8 all-time against Duke, including an 0-3 mark on the road. Junior guard Tyrese Rice averages a team-high 19.5 points for the Eagles, but has averaged only 9.5 points in four games against Duke.
