Stanford looks to continue rolling against Oregon State

Feb 9, 2008 - 11:35 AM Oregon St (6-16) at No. 9 Stanford (19-3) 8:00 pm EST

PALO ALTO, California (Ticker) - Ranked in the top 10 for the first time since 2002-03, No. 9 Stanford looks to win its seventh straight game against lowly Oregon State on Saturday.

The Cardinal (19-3, 8-2) are coming off an impressive 72-43 win over Oregon on Thursday, holding the Ducks to just 29 percent (14-of-48) shooting.

Twin brothers Robin and Brook Lopez had 15 and 12 points, respectively, in the victory - also combining for 13 rebounds and seven blocks. It was Robin's highest point total in a conference game this season, while Brook continues to lead the team in scoring at 18.4 per contest.

Continuing its winning ways should not be much of a problem against the Beavers (6-16, 0-10), who are currently on a 12-game losing streak.

Oregon State is coming off an 81-76 setback at California on Thursday - its closest loss in conference play this season.

The Beavers, who are easily the lowest scoring team in conference play at 60.7 per contest, have just two players averaging in double figures this season. Seth Tarver is netting 11.5 points per game, while Marcel Jones is scoring 10.5

Stanford has won the past five meetings, including a 66-46 victory on January 10.
