Butler looks to continue winning ways
Feb 12, 2008 - 3:36 PM No. 10 Butler (21-2) at Wisc Milwaukee (12-10) 9:00 pm ESTMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- No. 10 Butler shoots for its sixth consecutive victory when it faces Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs (21-2, 10-2 Horizon) are 13-1 in their last 14 games and hold a two-game lead in the loss column atop the conference standings. Butler defeated the Panthers, 72-56, earlier this season at home.
The Bulldogs are 9-2 on the road and are coming off Saturday's 62-57 victory at Green Bay, the second of three straight conference games away from home.
Senior guard Mike Green averages a team-high 15 points and six rebounds for Butler. Senior guard A.J. Graves averages 13.9 points and freshman forward Matt Howard 13.5 for the Bulldogs.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee (12-10, 7-5) hasn't played since a 53-51 loss at Wright State on February 2. It was the Panthers' second straight loss, both on the road.
Senior forward Paige Paulsen leads the Panthers in scoring at 14.9 points. Wisconsin-Milwaukee is 9-3 since leading scorer and rebounder Torre Johnson, who was averaging 17.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, was dismissed from the team in mid-December following his arrest on suspicion of battery.
