Purdue attempts to avenge loss to No. 9 Michigan State

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana (Ticker) - Off to its best Big Ten start in 20 years, No.23 Purdue gets a chance to avenge its only conference loss of the season against No. 9 Michigan State on Tuesday.

The first-place Boilermakers (19-5, 10-1 Big Ten) extended their season-high winning streak to nine games on Saturday, completing a season sweep of Wisconsin with a 72-67 road win.

Purdue now controls its fate in the Big Ten in an effort to win its first regular season title since 1996.

Freshman guard E'Twaun Moore averages 11.2 points for the Boilermakers, 13-1 at home. Freshman swingman Robbie Hummel averages 10.9 points and sophomore guard Keaton Grant 10.4.

The game is critical for the Spartans (20-3, 8-2), who are also looking up at Indiana and the Badgers in the conference standings. Sophomore forward Raymar Morgan averages a team-high 15.8 points for Michigan State.
